February 2012 - Fighting High to Publish Bomber Command Memorial Book
Exciting News! I recently met with Jim Dooley (Director of Fund Raising for the Bomber Command Memorial) and I can confirm that Fighting High will be publishing the book of the forthcoming memorial to Bomber Command. The title will be ‘We Will Remember Them – The Bomber Command Memorial’ and will be published in November 2012 – for Remembrance Day.

Jim Dooley – ‘We are delighted to have formed this exclusive partnership with Steve Darlow and the design and editorial team at Fighting High Publishing.’

‘We Will Remember Them’ will tell, in words and pictures, the story of the memorial from idea to realisation – accompanied by accounts and recollections from those who served, capturing the essence and the sentiment behind the national commemoration. The royalties for the book will go to the memorial fund. We will be launching the book at the beginning of March, along with a subscription offer in support of the ongoing fundraising.

Excellent review of Christopher Yeoman's and David Pritchard's Battle of Britain - Portraits of the Few in current issue of Aeroplane Monthly.

'Many books have been written on the Battle of Britain, so when one comes along which has a new approach to the subject it catches the attention... The biographies of the airmen include brief historical details as well as gripping combat accounts, recounting some of the life-or-death encounters that they experienced in their determined resistance of the might of the Luftwaffe. ... an exceptional overall tribute to young pilots who served with the RAF and ensured that the summer of 1940 became one of the most crucial turning points of the Second World War. … 60 watercolour illustrations … capturing their faces and character in a rather touching way and making this book a quite personal tribute.
